CONSUMER FIREWORKS PROHIBITED
AT MARANA FIREWORKS SHOW

Use of consumer fireworks at Arizona Pavilions and parks within the Town of Marana Star Spangled Spectacular event area is prohibited on July 4, by order of the Fire Chief of Northwest Fire District and in cooperation with the Town.

While consumer fireworks are legal to buy, they are not allowed at Marana’s Star Spangled Spectacular. This order refers to all consumer fireworks, including sparklers, and will be enforced by Marana Police Department.

Specifically, the official notice reads:

JULY 4, 2011

IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 307 OF THE 2006 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE:

THE USE, IGNITION, DISTRIBUTION, OR DETONATION OF FIREWORKS BY ANY PERSON IS PROHIBITED WITHIN THE BOUDRIES OF THE TOWN OF MAANA FIREWORKS EVENT AREA INCLUDING DISPLAY VIEWING, PARKING, AND ACCESSIBLE WALKWAY AREAS.

The Town of Marana and Northwest Fire District urge residents to attend and enjoy the professional display of fireworks and many other activities offered at the Star Spangled Spectacular, and to please leave any consumer fireworks they might have at home.
