The Northwest Fire District Training Division provides training and educational programs that:

• maintain and improve operational effectiveness,
• prevent occupational accidents, injury, illness and death
• minimize community loss of life and property.

The Training Division operates with a staff of five: a Battalion Chief, three Captains, and a Secretary. Training programs include:

• Firefighter Academy
• Probationary Programs
• Driver/Operator and Captain Certification
• EMS Programs including EMT and CPR refresher classes
• Monthly and Quarterly Company Training
• Officer Development
• Training Materials and Resource Management
• Cooperation with outside training agencies
